Why Choose ECM

More Than
Drone Photos.

The goal is not just to fly a drone. The goal is to give your roofing, property, or construction team clear documentation they can use for bids, repairs, owner updates, records, and next steps.

Commercial-Grade Capture

ECM uses purpose-built aerial and thermal imaging equipment for roof, property, and construction documentation. Visual imagery, thermal data, and ground-based media are matched to the job so the final deliverable is useful, organized, and easy to share.

Certified, Insured, and Documented

FAA Part 107 certified with $1,000,000 in liability coverage on every flight. We pull LAANC airspace authorization before every job and maintain full flight logs. If your contract or insurance carrier asks for proof of coverage, we have it.

Deliverables, Not Just Data

A folder of raw images is not enough. Jobs can include structured outputs such as annotated summaries, organized progress imagery, before/after documentation, or formatted reports ready to send to a contractor, owner, client, or internal team.

You Work Directly With the Operator

ECM is a Central Indiana operation. No dispatchers, no subcontractors, no national platform. The person you email is the person who shows up, flies the job, and delivers the work — with full accountability on every engagement.

Non-Invasive Documentation

Most aerial documentation can be completed without roof access, ladders, scaffolding, or disruption to tenants and normal building operations. When site access or safety requirements apply, they are confirmed before the visit.

Common Questions

Before you

Most questions answered here. If something isn't covered, reach out directly.

Ask a Question →
Generally no. Drone operations are conducted from ground level with no need for roof access, ladders, or building entry. For roof scans, you just need to let us know of any access restrictions around the property perimeter. For construction sites, a brief site orientation is appreciated but not always required. We work around your schedule and operations.
It depends on the service. Roof scans typically take 60–90 minutes on site including setup and post-flight checks. Construction documentation visits run 30–60 minutes depending on site size and angle coverage needed. Aerial data capture varies by project scope. Most jobs are completed in a single visit. Deliverables are typically sent within 3–5 business days of the flight date, with most standard jobs turned around sooner.
It depends on the service. Commercial and residential roof documentation can include edited aerial photos, visible condition notes, and an organized cloud delivery link. Thermal roof scans include a PDF documentation report with executive summary, severity-rated anomaly table, annotated thermal and RGB image pairs, satellite overhead diagram, and recommended next steps for review by a qualified roofing professional. Construction documentation includes organized, timestamped aerial photos and optional video delivered via cloud link. Raw imagery is available as an add-on for any service.
All flights require wind speeds under 15 mph and no active precipitation. Thermal roof scans additionally require a minimum 18°F temperature difference between the building interior and exterior — typically met in early morning or evening during cooler months. If conditions aren't suitable on your scheduled day, we'll reschedule at no additional charge and communicate within 24 hours.
Yes. ECM Aerial Imaging carries $1,000,000 per-flight liability coverage through SkyWatch. A certificate of insurance is available on request prior to any flight — just ask when you reach out.
No — and we're upfront about that. ECM Aerial Imaging is a FAA Part 107 certified drone operator, not a licensed roofing contractor, structural engineer, home inspector, or insurance adjuster. Our work is aerial documentation and data collection. For roof scans, findings should be verified by a qualified roofing professional before any repair, purchase, or insurance decision is made. Think of it as giving your contractor a head start with clear visual and thermal documentation.
Yes. ECM primarily focuses on commercial roof, property, and construction documentation, but residential roof documentation is available for homeowners, realtors, and roofing contractors who need aerial photos, visible condition documentation, or before-and-after repair documentation. Residential work is handled as roof documentation only — not as a licensed home inspection, insurance adjustment, or roofing opinion.
Yes — and it's one of our most common engagements. Construction documentation projects typically involve regular milestone visits throughout the build. We offer flexible scheduling and volume pricing for multi-visit engagements, whether that's weekly, bi-weekly, or tied to specific project phases. Reach out with your timeline and we'll put together a package that fits.
We operate within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, Indiana at no additional travel charge — covering the full Indianapolis metro including Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Plainfield, Avon, and Westfield. Travel beyond 50 miles is available at a flat add-on rate quoted per project.
ECM retains processed imagery and reports for 90 days following the flight date. After that, files are removed from our systems. Clients are responsible for archiving delivered files. Raw imagery is available as an optional add-on if your team needs the original data files.
